Well I haven’t done a good job with the 2007 MOTW award. Here is a quick breakdown of MOTW by a race by race evaluation.

Monte Vista Invitational - definitely goes out to Rachel Gaines who was the ONLY freshmen girl who competed that day for Granada. It was awesome to have her out there. Honorable mentions for Hayley Swanson and Alex Summers. This was a fun race to watch as this was the first race ever for a lot of team members.

De La Salle/Carondelt Nike Invitational - The dynamic duo of Hayley Swanson and Emily Paddack because they ran identical times and helped the team to a 4th place finish. The girls who competed at varsity took home some nice medals and bags. Honorable mentions for Nathaniel Smauley, Tania Frendo, and Carolyn Masi.

Stanford Invitational - Julia Burton had a great race running on the 3K course. This earned her a spot on varsity for the first Center Meet! Lara Jansen dropped a huge PR. Honorable mentions for Nathaniel Smauley, Albert Harris, Andrew Budiman, and Ramzy DeCastro who all had significant PRs.

CM#1 at Shadow Cliffs - So many fantastic races. Daniel Pierson earned the award for the JV race proving that he will be a force to deal with in the future. Drew Callen ran an incredible 15:51 making him the fastest boy Matador on that course. Lara Jansen ran a superb 18:50 becoming the fastest girl Matador on that course. Honorable mention goes out to Sarah Herbeck.

Clovis Invitational - Easy pick, Alex Summers clocked 16:21, which was good for the 8th fastest sophomore time on that course this year. Honorable mention goes out to Drew Callen - solid racing all week long.

Castro Valley Invitational - Mark Lindsey raced in both the varsity and JV races and ran well in both. Nice race by Elise Mork in the varsity girls, her first varsity race for this season. The entire boys freshmen team, they finished in 3rd place!
