Jessica Burton has literally been putting in as many miles or more than 96.3% of the distance team. Her off season hard work paid off with stellar performances in the 1600 and the 4×800M Relay. The 21 second PR in the 1600M was a huge vote of confidence in establishing Jessi as a major threat this track season. Her time of 5:34 will make her a major point earner for Granada. When asked how she felt, Burton was all smiles and thumbs up. “It felt like 90% effort, ” she said. Jessica then came back as the second leg of the 4×800M Relay with a 2:34, pulling in front of the lead girl and then opening up a huge gap. “The Paddacks hardly even had to run,” said Coach Mattern of Burton’s split.
