Albert Harris had over a 40 second PR against SRV to bring the first dual meet of the season down to the last event. The third year runner surprised everyone with his gutsy racing. “The race plan was for Doug to ‘go’ with a 1K left. I was surprised when he went with 1200M and amazed when Albert went with him,” said Coach Mattern. Harris definitely deserves to be MOTW.
His ‘move’ worked and Albert took 2nd place over last year’s runner up (Gunari of SRV) in the EBAL Track Championship 3200 race. His time of 10:00.86 is currently the second fastest 3200M in EBAL. “Breaking 10 in the deuce is a major obstacle for high school runners, and Albert looks like he going to crush it before the season is over,” stated Mattern.
