It was clear to me who earned MOTW honors for their performance at Saturday’s EBAL Championships.

Sophomore Julia Burton, who averaged 40 miles a week this past summer, took 1st place in the JV Girls’ race. Junior Alena Harris, who has been making a comeback, took 2nd place in the JV Girls’ race. They helped their team take 1st place! Congratulations!

Sophomore Sarah Herbeck had a huge PR! on a hot day when most runners ran 30-40 seconds slower in the Varsity Girls’ race. Her efforts helped the team take second in the meet and and put California far out of reach. She took 11th place. “My muscles are angry and they want to run fast!,” said Herbeck hours before her race.

Honorable mentions for Alex Summers who took 5th place, Lara Jansen 5th place, and Hayley Swanson 6th place in their varsity races. Also Daniel Pierson 5th place, Ben Lee 7th place, and Luke Gross 9th place in their frosh-soph race.
